Dublin Port Company in collaboration with Darmody Architects

Dublin Port is a living place of arrival and departure, a dynamic junction between sea and land, between citizen and industry.
It is a place where memories are embedded and safeguarded within the industrial aesthetic of material worlds. The landscape, buildings, features and objects represent stories of industry, ambition, innovation, achievement, struggle, and survival. They link the Port community to a wider shared a cultural memory, a sense of belonging. This is a place where community and culture of the past is not just represented but is also created.

We identified the core ambition for the strategy- to shift the perception of Dublin Port from location to destination.

We developed an appropriate, nuanced and accurate plan that met the full requirements of both visitor engagement and Dublin Port Company, linking port-city, enabling meaningful engagement with both the tangible and intangible elements, and sharing the stories within it.
