Ulysses in Hand
The Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle
Gulbenkian Best Smaller Museum 2001shortlist
This temporary exhibition (May- Oct 2000) celebrated the life and work of James Joyce with a special focus on the hand written manuscript of Ulysses on loan from the Rosenbach Museum and Library, Philadelphia. It was a critical success and extensively written up in national media.
The most impressive and superb presentation of the works of Joyce.
Derick Dreher, Director of the Rosenbach Museum and Library
If it were performed under easy circumstances, the work done by Scroope Design on Ulysses in Hand would merit great praise, but given the conditions of a compressed timeline, a formidable subject, transatlantic three-party communications and lack of access to the original materials, Scroope Design's work was extraordinary.
Michael Barsanti, Director of Special Projects, The Rosenbach Museum & Library
